A: Lights and gauges only measure pressure and are often unreliable. They are also subject to interpretation by the individual running the compactor who may not understand what the lights and gauges mean. Also, when non-compactible trash is put into the compactor, lights and gauges will falsely indicate that the compactor is full, resulting in the compactor being emptied early or unnecessarily. Q: What kind of data does the Trash Monitor Plus System generate? A: The system monitors the status of your compactor 24 hours a day, accurately tracking functions such as pressure, weight, power on cycles, time of operation, the mechanical status of the compactor and when the compactor is emptied. Q: How is the Trash Monitor Plus installed? A: Trash Monitor Plus can arrange for a qualified independent contractor to install the monitor. However, many of our customers choose to install the monitor themselves. Installation is quite easy and should take less than 2 hours. An installation kit and detailed set of instructions is included with every monitor. Q: Do I need to obtain a dedicated telephone line or cellular service for the Trash Monitor Plus? A: No. Trash Monitor Plus contracts directly with our wireless partner so you don’t have to. In fact, the cost of the monitoring service includes all wireless airtime charges.
